Maggie Foster is a contemporary choreographer and dance educator located in Boulder, CO. She is originally from Westchester, NY, where she trained and performed with the Westchester Ballet Company. She completed a BFA in contemporary dance performance at The Boston Conservatory of Berklee in Boston, MA, where she subsequently worked as a performer, educator, and choreographer. She has created over 100 student works for recreational and pre-professional dancers. Maggie’s choreography has placed in dance competitions including YAGP and NYCDA, and has been shown by The Boston Conservatory at Berklee (Boston) and Avante Garde (Denver). Maggie has also worked as a competitive dance Judge for the Inferno Dance competition tour of the US.
Performance experience includes works by Jose Limon, Paul Taylor, Larry Keigwin, Alwin Nikolais, Reggie Wilson, Nicole Pierce, Courtney Piex, Michael Figueroa, Margot Gelber, Lydia Zimmer. Professional performance venues include Boston Center for the Arts, the Boston Conservaory, Tufts, the Dance Complex, Green Street Studios, the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston Contemporary Dance Festival, Boston University Theatre, SOMdance festival, ArtBeat Somerville, the Armory, Roger Williams University, and the Denver Art Museum. Workshop performance experience and training includes Karole Armitage Gone! Dance, Alonzo King LINES Ballet, Spellbound Ballet (IT), Movement Invention Project, Alvin Ailey, Colorado Ballet, Boston Ballet, Ellison Ballet.
